Hello, welcome to our website. My name is Viola (Musungo) Masona and I am the Founder, Lead Clinician, and Managing Director for Fresh Start Psychological Services Ltd. As an authentic and compassionate trauma specialist, I am very passionate about mental health. My aim is to work with individuals struggling with trauma and any other associated psychological difficulties in a way that promotes their personal growth and meaningful recovery. I worked within the NHS for more than 19 years and gained a lot of experience over the years. I have a strong vision that includes helping to create easy access to psychological services for those individuals who struggle to use the available National Health Service routes. My focus is to address the existing barriers to accessing psychological therapies for minority communities and help reduce the stigma that comes with mental illness. I have a lot of expertise in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Clinical Supervision. I work with both adults & children from the age of 11 years, struggling with all forms of anxiety and depression. As a service, we are currently working in collaboration with Black Minds Matter UK to provide evidence-based therapy to our black community. I am very passionate about what I do and believe in doing the best I can to have a positive impact on others.
I am a qualified integrative therapist and use a range of therapeutic modalities to support people through challenges. I have experience in supporting individuals with a range of mental health conditions. My areas of expertise are: working with post-natal depression, relationship issues, hoarding, bereavement, and mental health crises including suicidality. I work with people to enable them to mediate through challenging periods, developing tools that foster resilience and self-determinism.
